One machine, two fence knots

The FLM: the world's only fabricated fence machine that runs two knot types.

The patented Fence Lokk Machine produces both the Fixed Lokk and the Stay Lokk knot on a single machine, with minimal downtime when you change between them.

Order the FLM with one set of tooling for a single knot type, or a second set to run both.

The patented FLM is the only wire fence machine in the world that can produce both the Fixed Lokk and the Stay Lokk knot on a single machine, with minimal downtime when you change between them.

Every knot is individually twisted, so the line and stay wires are never damaged and the fence is tighter and more uniform than other methods produce. The modular design allows fast specification changeovers and quick removal of components for scheduled maintenance.

Why it runs, and keeps running.

Built for strength and permanence, and built so a changeover never costs you a shift. Every system on the FLM is designed around uptime.

Key capabilities
  • Dual end wire feed produces two fences at once and cuts specification change time.
  • Automated crimp drum and dual stay feed give rapid changeovers when specs change often.
  • Roll shuffle layers the fence so knots do not stack, keeping the roll compact.
  • Auto roll stripping clamp removes finished rolls so production continues without stopping.
  • Rockwell Automation with Kinetix 5700 servo, integrated PLC safety, light curtains, laser scanner and RFID guard sensing.
  • On machine reporting of faults, run hours and history, sent to any device.

The FLM in action

Built on the factory floor.

Two knots, one platform

The difference is in the knot.

Run one knot type, or both. The FLM is the only machine that lets you choose without changing machines.

Fixed Lokk knot - a rigid, high-tension wrapped knot locking the line and stay wires
Fixed Lokk

A rigid, high-tension wrapped knot that locks the line and stay wires firmly together - built for strength and permanence.

Stay Lokk knot - a flexible hinge-joint knot that absorbs impact and springs back
Stay Lokk

A compact knot designed for animal containment and reduced visual impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

FLM-10S & FLM-12S

What is the difference between the FLM-10S and the FLM-12S? +

The number refers to the maximum fence height each machine can produce: the FLM-10S produces fence up to 3,048 mm (120 inches, 10ft) high, and the FLM-12S extends that to 3,658 mm (144 inches, 12ft). Everything else is identical between the two, including knot types, wire diameter, production speed, roll size and power requirements. The right choice depends on the tallest fence height you need to cover.

What does the FLM (Fence Lokk Machine) do? +

The FLM is a fabricated wire fence machine that produces rolls of knotted fencing for livestock, conservation, security and exclusion applications. It's patented as the only machine in the world that can produce both a Fixed Lokk and a Stay Lokk knot on one platform, switching between them with minimal downtime.

Can one FLM machine produce both Fixed Lokk and Stay Lokk fence? +

Yes. The FLM can be ordered with one tooling set for a single knot type, or a second tooling set that lets the same machine switch between Fixed Lokk and Stay Lokk. Every knot is individually twisted, so the line and stay wires aren't damaged during the knotting process.

How fast does the FLM run and does wire spacing affect speed? +

Fixed Lokk production runs at up to 70 BPM (stay wires per minute) at 3 to 12 inch spacing, dropping to 60 BPM at 18 and 24 inch spacing. Stay Lokk runs faster, up to 80 BPM at 2 to 12 inch spacing, also dropping to 60 BPM at wider spacing. Roll capacity is up to 1,300 mm (51.2 in) diameter and 1,500 kg (3,300 lbs).

What safety and monitoring features come standard on the FLM? +

Integrated PLC machine safety, including light curtains, a laser scanner and magnetic RFID guard sensing. Front and rear HMI interfaces give operators hand wheel adjustment for slow speed setup, and the machine can automatically distribute fault and production reports to any device rather than only displaying them on the factory floor.

Can the FLM be customised for specific production needs? +

Yes. Available options include dual stay wire feed, extended fence ends, automatic cut and reload, an automatic label inserter, a centre hinge twister (not available in New Zealand), and remote support over a local internet connection.
